OK, we got one of these in for testing yesterday. According to Mr. Black, the Minoru 3D is incompatible with the QuickTime supplied UVC USB webcam driver for the following reason:
The Minoru 3D is actually an integrated USB hub connected to two identical USB cameras. Unfortunately, the QuickTime UVC driver wants a pair of stereo cameras to be on different internal USB busses. We have a modified internal build of FourEyes3D that can open the Minoru 3D webcams individually, and pair one of them with the Built-in iSight, but they cannot both be activated at the same time.
So currently, if you want to do 3D webcasts on the Mac, you should buy a matched pair of low-resolution USB webcams. Ideally, cameras that operate in 352x288 natively. They should be approx $40 each. Another important consideration is the mount. It can be useful to slide the cameras along the mounting plane and also "toe them in".
Hey, it's a work in progress...
